Carnival 4

2026 race report

Saturday 11 July 2026

Thank you,
Buxton.

Thank you to everyone who entered the 2026 Carnival 4 Race. A record 198 runners completed the race with ages ranging from 16 to 79. The conditions were hot on the day which proved challenging for runners, but ensured the spectators were out in force.

The race is dedicated to the memory of Buxton AC’s former junior Thomas Theyer. The Thomas Theyer Foundation has been set up to provide accommodation for children and young people, with additional needs or difficult life circumstances, at White Hall Outdoor Education Centre so they can enjoy outdoor activities and respite breaks for families. The total monies raised from the race this year is £957.72. This will be presented to the Thomas Theyer Foundation and will contribute to the work of they do.

First across the finish line was Will Tighe (Buxton Athletic Club) in a time of 20:20, closely followed by Matthew Craig (Hallamshire Harriers) 21:25 and then Harry Bond (Staffordshire Moorlands) 21:35.

The first lady across the line was Victoria Goddard (Unattached) in a time of 27:16, followed by Nichola McNally (Penistone Footpath Runners) 27:54 and then Sarah Maund (Unattached) 29:01.
